Dr. Axel Rohrmann
Born and raised in South Africa, Dr. Rohrmann completed his studies in Podiatric Medicine through the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. In 2000, he moved to Singapore, where he set up Podiatry services in Changi General Hospital and served as head of the program.
He was involved with the Wound Healing Society and much of his practice revolved around "high risk" feet and limbs, working closely with vascular, orthopedic and plastic surgeons.
In the summer of 2007, he arrived in Canada and immediately started work with the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region Podiatry program, for which he was the Clinical Head Podiatrist. During his time with the RQHR, he established a High Risk Foot Clinic with a focus on wound care, limb salvage and amputation prevention.
Neurovascular foot screening remains an integral part of his daily practice and he would like to share his approach to this assessment.
