Leanne LaRose and Sam Hirst

As one of the co-founders of Kriens-LaRose LLP, Leanne brings a tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience, which she has used to a great extent to pursue her passion of assisting owner-managed businesses and individuals with their multifarious taxation, accounting, personal finance, and estate planning needs. After graduating from Brock University in 1985 with an Honours degree in Business Administration (specializing in Finance and Accounting), Leanne articled with BDO Dunwoody LLP, successfully obtaining her CA designation in 1988. Leanne’s twelve years of experience at both BDO and a medium-sized accounting firm further reinforced both her ardent commitment to public accounting and her vision of eventually venturing into her own practice. Thus, in 1997 Leanne joined with Thomas Kriens to found Kriens-LaRose LLP.

Sam graduated from the University of Laurentian in 2016 with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Sports Administration. Sam then decided to pursue a career in accounting and obtained his CPA designation in 2019.

Sam joined Kriens~LaRose in May 2020 as a Senior Associate concentrating on assisting owner-managers and our small business clients with their tax, accounting, and compliance needs.

Sam articled with BDO in Collingwood with their audit team but decided to transition to Toronto and Kriens~LaRose to pursue his desire to work directly with owner-managed companies and small businesses.

In addition to spending time with family, Sam enjoys golf, reading and the practice of yoga.
