Chiropodist Wanted for a Multi-disciplinary Clinic in Whitby (Posted July 22, 2020)

Whitby Physio Centre (“WPC) located in Whitby, Ontario (Brock Street and Mary Street) is located in a state of the art medical facility. We are a multi-discipline refined medical clinic servicing professional athletes and the general public specializing in many services including but not limited to physiotherapy, chiropody, chiropractic treatments, massage therapy, bracing and custom made orthotics. Our one of a kind clinic is seeking to grow our team with an ambitious and driven part-time chiropodist with a passion for delivering high quality professional clinical services to our clientele.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the President, the Chiropodist is responsible for:

a. Diagnose diseases, deformities and injuries of the human foot and treat patients using braces, casts, shields, orthotic devices, physical therapy and subcutaneous soft-tissue foot surgery.
b. Offer treatment for the relief of painful symptoms of dermatological and other foot-related problems, including hard skin, corns and calluses, verrucae (warts), in-growing nails, fungal infections and bunions.
c. Maintain a level of care that meets ethical standards based on the licensing body.
d. Provide vascular and neurological assessment in the long-term management of chronic disorders and specialist high risk patient groups such as the elderly and those suffering from conditions where the possibility of amputation must be minimized.
e. Develop and implement charting tools along with retaining appropriate records including statistics.
f. Develop or initiate health teachings, screening programs or workshops. Identify health needs of clients.
g. Treating ulcers, providing wound management, advice and referral as appropriate.
h. Using therapeutic techniques such as carrying out minor nail and soft tissue surgery using local anesthesia.
i. Delivering foot care education to our clients, particularly to the elderly, children, diabetic patients and those with general medical problems, such as osteo-arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
j. Using a range of equipment such as surgical instruments, dressings, treatment tables, orthotic (inner sole) materials, lasers, grinders and shaping equipment for making orthotics, X-ray and video gait-analysis equipment.
k. Strictly adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the WPC especially patient confidentiality and be responsible for complying with WPC’s Employee Handbook
l. Be responsible for ongoing professional and/or self-development and/or training in the medical field as required.



  • Active and valid registration with the College of Chiropodists in Ontario as a Chiropodist
  • Relevant degree in Chiropody Work Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary health services team
  • Sales experience is an asset
