Job description / Duties:

We are a well established Foot Clinic in the prestigious Yonge/St. Clair Ave location.  We are looking for a motivated practitioner who is committed to working hard in order to build a successful practice.  

The position initially offers 2-3 days/week and will increase in response to clinical demands.  The practitioner must be a team player who can work with our existing staff and be able to show exemplary communicative skills.

Qualifications / Required skills:

Registered Chiropodist or Podiatrist in good standing with the COCOO.  Proof of professional liability insurance and CPR certification.

Position: Contract Assistant Professor, Chiropody (3 Positions)

Salary: $37.21 - $39.47 per hour

Hours: 21 hours per week (approximately 2 days a week, consistent days of the week preferred)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Chair, the Chiropodist is responsible for providing clinical teaching of students while overseeing patient care.

The clinician must meet relevant professional standards at local, provincial and national levels.

Major Elements of the Position:

Providing quality podiatric assessment, treatment and care to individuals referred or self-referred to the clinical site

Facilitate a positive learning environment for both the clients and students at the clinic

Provide feedback on student progress and achievement, while providing student advisement and remedial assistance

Position Qualifications:

A relevant professional diploma

Previous teaching experience with knowledge in evaluative techniques (preferred)

Current registration in good standing with the College of Chiropodist of Ontario (COCOO) required

Membership with OSC and CFPM preferred

Current CPR and basic first aid

Current Vulnerability Sector Check

All immunizations up to date

Strong organizational and leadership skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

An ability to work independently and as part of a team

Vaccines (COVID-19) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code

Bloor West Foot Clinic is currently looking for chiropodist to fill a maternity leave position on a part time basis with the potential to stay on long term in a Part-Time capacity once the maternity leave position is over.

We specialize in Foot Mobilisation Technique, so applicants will be expected to have an interest in learning manual therapies. Comprehensive training will be provided, however any experience in FMT or other manual therapies would be an asset. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Provide various Routine Foot Conditions with patients of all ages. May perform surgery on the forefoot and subcutaneous soft tissues of the foot.

- Baccalaureate Degree (University)

- Successful completion of Ontario Chiropody Registration Examinations

- Soft Tissue Surgical competence including cutting into the subcutaneous tissues of the foot within the Ontario scope of practice preferred
