Chromonychia - colourful nails!

Nail pathologies are something we see a lot in our practices but probably the most striking are nails with colour changes. Chromonychia is a broad term that covers an array of clinical pathologies that can cause alteration in the colour of the nail, nail bed or nail unit. This presentation will look at a range of clinical conditions from trauma to infections systemic illness to tumours all of which may present as chromonychia. Particularly attention will be given to melanonychia which can frequently be a cause of concern to chiropodists.

Dr. Ivan Bristow

Throughout his career, Ivan has held a passion for dermatology. He has promoted podiatric dermatology worldwide working with podiatrists, dermatologists and general practitioners on various education programmes and in researching new technologies and treatments. In addition, he has authored books, published over 100 papers and runs a successful blog. He holds visiting appointments at Universities in the UK and Australia and continues to lecture around the world as well as regularly working in a busy clinic in Hampshire, UK.
